I am Nurse Jill and I am the school nurse at Palmer Middle School.
As a school nurse, I am proud to be a part of your child’s education. Success in school is directly related to the good health and emotional well-being of each student. Responsibility for the care of children lies primarily with parents. As a school nurse, I am here to assist and support parent’s efforts to maintain good health in their children. School nurses do not diagnose, as nurses we assess and make recommendations based on that assessment. I am always happy to have you call with questions or concerns about your child’s health or stop in and visit! It is my goal to educate your student to take control of their own health care management, so they can grow up strong and independent.
Check out our school clinic blog for important information such as our illness policy, return to school policy, medication policy such as “Authorization to Carry Over the Counter Medication”, etc. The school clinic nurse/staff provides basic care for students who are sick or injured. The nurse/staff also assist in administration of medications and treatments. Nurses assess, We DO NOT diagnosis, as there are no licensed physician on staff at the school. The care & guidance is provided according to Cobb County School's Guidelines.

Food Allergies/Outside Food:Many students have food allergies. It is imperative that parents notify the school nurse and the child’s teacher of any food allergies as soon as possible. To keep students safe, we ask that parents Please DO NOT bring in outside food, other than lunches and health snacks for their own child’s consumption. A food allergy can turn into a potentially life-threatening situation. Please have your doctor complete an Allery Action Plan form for the school to share with your student’s teacher and to notify the cafeteria manager.
